About us
Totó is a leading Italian catering service based in Haarlem. The founders, Salvatore (Chef) and James (DipWSET and Sommelier), share a passion for high-quality Italian cuisine and wines.
Our story starts in our hometown, the picturesque Massa Lubrense, located near the enchanting Sorrento and Amalfi coast. The ingredients in every dish from this region are simple but incredibly flavourful, thanks to the products grown in almost untouched land. Sorrento is known for its lemons and tasty tomatoes.
But the most important ingredient that brings Italian food to life is 'amore' - love. In Italy, food goes beyond just nourishment. It forms the centerpiece of every celebration and family gathering and brings people together. This passion inspired us to start Totó, with the goal of providing our customers with an unforgettable Italian experience.
Join us on a flavourful journey to Italy where our love for delicious food, exquisite wine, and hospitality converge.
Totó James
My father Luigi introduced me to his passion for food and hospitality at an early age. He worked as a restaurant manager at a leading restaurant in the Sorrento region.
After years of experience at restaurants in Italy, Australia and England, I came to the Netherlands for my 'amore'. In recent years I have worked at several top restaurants in the Amsterdam region. In addition to my passion for high-quality dishes, I developed a love for wines.
I decided to take several wine courses and obtain my WSET diploma. I like to share my expertise about Italian cuisine and wine to combine them in dishes that offer a good taste sensation
Totó Salvatore
My passion for food started in my childhood, thanks to my mother, as is often the case in Italian households. She taught me the essence of each dish through the key ingredient 'amore'. After years of experience in local restaurants, I opened my own restaurant, specialized in pasta dishes, pizzas and regional delicacies. To develop myself further, I moved to London where I worked in several Italian restaurants.
Five years ago I came to the Netherlands and was reunited with my childhood friend James. Cooking for our guests is my way of sharing my love for Italian cuisine with them
